I never had thought that I'd give up on love, but this ain't my last rodeo. I might be bruised, but I ain't. Broke back in the saddle, back on the road. This ain't the first time or the last time that I'll ride, ride, ride Up to the next, straight out the gate. You think I'm down, but just you wait, I'll dust off this heart, put on the show. This ain't my last rodeo.
Speaker 2:Welcome to another episode of the no Instructions Needed Podcast. That is Restless Road. Last Rodeo Unbelievable tune. Absolutely love it. This is not my last rodeo. I'm gonna keep going with this guys. The other two guys are just busy right now. Life is getting away. It's all present till 5th every day. There's nothing more to it. We're just super busy and I have to. I'm gonna hit this one more time.
Speaker 1:This ain't my last rodeo. I might be bruised, but I ain't. Broke back in the saddle, back on the road. This ain't the first time or the last time that I'll ride, ride, ride Up to the next straight out the gate. You think I'm down, but just you wait, I'll dust off this heart put on the show. And again, this is not my last rodeo.
Speaker 2:He'll come touch on at one point and the big O is just killing him. He's just doing his thing out there in TO and being an amazing dad and great husband. So those two guys are still part of the show. I just needed I didn't realize how important this podcast was for my mental well-being type idea. I'd found in the last two months that I'm as happy as I usually am. I think it's because I got so used to doing this that it just became like a part of me and, yeah, I'm not gonna get too emotional with it, but I need to do this. So, alright, let's just get into it.
Speaker 2:Let's start with Loki. Okay, I'm not the biggest, I am not the biggest Marvel fan. Obviously I don't really like Marvel too much, but this Loki series was fucking phenomenal Honestly one of the best TV series I've ever seen. It's a nice two-season arc. Loki Tom Hiddleston is the single best well-written, maybe superhero of all time. Super villain, superhero, whatever he is kind of in that gray area. His arc is unbelievable. It's just brilliant.
Speaker 2:Owen Wilson, also MVP of the series. Owen Wilson does not get enough credit for Loki. He is absolutely phenomenal in Loki and the Stroudly cast everyone in that cast killed it. He's one of the best TV series I've ever seen. It's definitely top 10 for me of all time for all the TV series I've ever seen. I'll get killed for that because of longevity. Blah, blah, blah. It was good, it was really really good.
Speaker 2:So let's just he must be God. Now, that's the way I see it. Now he is the guy in charge. He controls multiple time, he controls all the timelines. He's God, and I don't think that you could argue that he is, because if he is the one that is holding all of time and he's the keeper of time Then he has. He's God. I mean, there's no other way around that. So he went from being the annoying little half-brother of Thor To being the crazy super villain. Thank you for watching bye God. Like he is, he has had the best arc in the whole way better and iron man better and Thor better and Captain America better than all the other, all the other characters. I mean this guy is top notch. The acting is superb. I can't recommend to show enough.
Speaker 2:I think Loki is a. You know, it's like a four and a half out of five. You know, nine out of ten, nine, nine, point, three out of ten, something like that. The series is absolutely phenomenal and If you have not seen it, you should definitely Stop what you're doing and go, go check it out, because it's worth. It's worth every, every penny, every, every subscription fee you gotta pay. It is. To me, it's absolutely. It's absolutely phenomenal. I just don't know where they go from here, because now you have Loki. He is the holder of time. He's the keeper of time you have. You have every other Universe out there, so he might, he'll just pick and choose which ones. Like, he'll make sure everything stays on track. He'll use his, his magic and all that shit. Like I don't know, I'm not much into the whole micro Analysis of a TV series. That's kind of you know, your basic dumb white guy that sits there and say oh cool explosions.
Speaker 2:Oh cool, pretty girl, oh cool.
Speaker 1:He got hit.
Speaker 2:That's me and that that series captured me in every single way that you could possibly Imagine. It's one of the best. Honest to God, it is truthfully One of the best. This is gonna be probably just a quick, you know, 10, 15 minute episode. Here I want to touch on something that I think is absolutely outstanding. We're gonna do a Pacific Northwest sports review.
Speaker 2:Listen, the Vancouver Knux are good. All right, I know that the media does want to be good, because it's not as good father for them as as far as their followers are concerned, and they can't manipulate the, the the whole fan base for Vancouver like they could when they're when they're bad. And you know you got these, these idiots on Twitter that that shouldn't be mentioned on our show because you know there's a bunch of morons. But the Knux are good. They're a very, very, very good team and and I I foresee them trying to add to this unit. It is gonna be a tough, tough add, obviously, but I think they can do it. I think you know you gotta get rid of Garland, you gotta get rid of Bolivia and maybe add a right-handed shot to fencemen I don't know who that's gonna be on the who's on the mark. I mean you got the ten of the dessert? Does the door doves? All these guys? There are some good pieces that they could look at adding for sure, but the Knux are good. There is just, there's no doubt they are. They are a good team, I mean borderline great team. They're third, third right now in the NHL. They just came off one, two of three on their eastern Canadian road trip, which is absolutely unbelievable. I think when you have the Thomas Drances of the world and the so carous and price podcast, or the the Donnie and Dolly podcast, when they're starting to talk glowingly about you as a team and as a franchise, well, you've started to change narratives because those guys are generally pretty negative. They're not, they're not stupid, they're smart. Those guys know what they're talking about. You know they got their analytics and all that sort of shit, but they're, they're, they are, they are, they are negative. But they don't have much to say right now because it's hard to. It's hard for them to break that mold of constantly being bad after bad year after bad year after bad year, bad contract, bad, trading, bad, this bad, that bad.
Speaker 2:Coaching, which is was the biggest problem. Vancouver, let's just take a stop. The last three coaches in the Vancouver can suck Because they all had this core to work with, so bad hires for coaching. I firmly believe if they had a better coach in Vancouver at the start of 2020, let's say they would be way further ahead. I think coaching has been the biggest problem Vancouver.
Speaker 2:They went with Travis Green too long. Go back to Willie Desjardins. They went with him. Not a good hire that was Trevor Linden. By the way, vancouver Knuck fans. He's not exactly your savior, like he said. He does some stupid shit too, bringing up the trades here in the past Trevor Linden, moronic anyways.
Speaker 2:And then you had Travis Green. Way too hard on players. You can be a hard coach if you're going to win. If you're not going to win, you can't be a hard coach. That's just how it is. No one bought into Travis. It was a problem.
Speaker 2:And then you go to Bruce. Bruce was. He got him bumped. He got him going. He brought some positivity. I think it helped a lot of players when he came on board because he was, you know. He changed the vibe and he was needed.
Speaker 2:He's not. He wasn't. He wasn't the right coach for Vancouver. He didn't, he didn't. There wasn't enough structure. And he gets all mad right now when you, when he talks about structure and he's like, oh, it's the same structure we were playing. We just got better players Now. They just got better players. Now it is. It looks sloppy when they played. That's just how it is. And the talk it came in last year did unbelievable. Last year Everyone could say it was a soft schedule. That's fine. It's carried into this year now and now they're one of the best teams in the NHL.
Speaker 2:I don't know where it's going with the Canucks, but I know it's going to be pretty hard for them to miss the playoffs at this point. They would have to be pretty, pretty terrible. And Edmonton is just a dumpster fire. I mean they fired their head coach. It looks like, kind of looks like Conor McDavid might be going the old LeBron James route and, you know, completely meddling in all of the teams, in meddling in all the teams doings. I mean he's got the CEO as his former agent. He's got his junior A coach. I'm sure the training like I. You know I'm not saying that that's bad to do that around your superstar, but I don't know, man, I think Edmonton is a bit of a dumpster fire, so, but the Canucks are looking good.
Speaker 2:I don't know what else to say about that. I mean, they're coming back at home here. You know, after 30 games, that's the that's going to be. The marker for me is probably the 25, 30 game mark. If, after 30 games, if you know, if you're 25, 20, let's say 23, four and and three or something like that, they're 20, you know, 22, six and two. Like you're good, you're, you're a solid team. I don't see a reason why they can't do that. So it has been wonderful to see, and it's also amazing to see, all of the people that are starting to jump back on the Canucks bandwagon.
Speaker 2:I think that, as Canuck fans, we've. No, it hasn't been a good, it hasn't hasn't been a good decade. Okay, thank you, jim Benning. But at the same time, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Don't let the negative sports fans and the negative media get to you. Enjoy this. Ignore Trevor Linden, ignore Jim Benning. Just enjoy this team, because this team needs your support now. And and they're good, they're really, really good.
Speaker 2:Now, let's, let's shift gears to football here really quick. Let's go down to Seattle, the Seahawks. They're the most frustrating team in the NFL. There's six and three. I shouldn't be complaining about them. I have like it's just so frustrating to watch. Geno Smith is amazing, he's terrible, he's amazing, he's terrible. Kenneth Walker is amazing, but then they forget to give him the ball. Quite a bit Like it's super confusing.
Speaker 2:The defense on paper best defense in the NFL In actuality they can. They always give up 13, 14s and it's first down. It is the most, the most Frankenstein, not Frankenstein, dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde or whatever the fuck that that thing was. That's what this team is. It's super annoying, but you know what? There's six and three. They got a tough five game stretch. Now I believe it goes. It goes.
Speaker 2:The Rams, dallas 49ers someone else than 49ers again, it's something like that and it's going to be tough. They have a tough, tough road ahead. If they can come out of that road in the next five games that you know, if they win three of those five games and sit at nine and nine and five or something like that, they're going to be pretty good for the playoffs. They got to get their offense figured out. They can't score in the red zone. You know Smith has to start letting the rock go, as Mark Sanchez was saying on the game this week against Washington. You know they're a good team, they're a Super Bowl contender. But if people believe that or not, they are, they realistically are a Super Bowl contender. They just have to get in front of it a bit better and start acting like it.
Speaker 2:I think if you get Pete Carroll going, going back to the run, when you get, you know, clint Hurk calling better defensive plays on third and longs, third and shorts, this team's going to going to change pretty good, pretty quick, and it's going to be pretty good again. Again there's six and three. There's not much to complain about other than the loss of the Bengals, because they should be seven and two, but but they're looking good. And I think the Seahawks, you know I think they're going to make playoffs. I think they could do some damage. It's just they have to get better on offense. The defense. The defense is going to struggle game in, game out as far as what quarterback they're playing and all that sort of fun stuff. But if they can just focus, focus Geno Smith on, you know, not turning over the ball just like you do against Washington, he had a great game against Washington, realistically a good quarter and a half. Get back to their base with Kenneth Walker and Sharmane, they will be Super Bowl contenders. It's just, you just got to, you just got to get there. As far as the rest of the league, I mean, it's obviously, you know, it's Kansas City world. We're all just living in it and hopefully, in that they, that they slip up, interested to see what Vegas does here too, with Antonio Pierce's coach. Now we're going to. I think that I think that's going to be pretty a pretty interesting, a pretty interesting finish to the season. I could see, see the same thing that happened a couple of years ago, where they fired their head coach and they made the playoffs. So we'll see. We'll see how they get in Nate McDonald or Aiden O'Connell. It's pretty good too. It'll be, there'll be a fascinating launch.
Speaker 2:Anyways, guys, that's it for me. I'm just going to do 14, 15 minutes. I'll try to do it longer than the next time. This is my first attempt, or second attempt, of doing it by myself. It is hard. It is very, very hard. It's, you don't know, like you. Just, it would have been easier if I took an edible. That's the truth. I could have just kept blabbering and blabbering and blabbering and brab, but instead of that, I'm just going to get out of here. Thank you, guys very much for downloading. Be a friend, tell a friend and I'll be better next time. See ya, see ya, bye.
